A Fond Farewell
Episode 41: Monday, August 25, 2008

Hello and welcome to Modern Manners Guy's Quick and Dirty Tips for a More Polite Life. Dear listeners, some of you have been with the show from the beginning, nearly two years ago. Though I have not been able to respond to every letter or phone call, I do thank you for and appreciate each one. I have been overwhelmed by the number of listeners who tuned in from time to time, or on a regular basis to the show. When we started the podcast, I never would have believed there could be so much interest in a show about manners. It has given me great hope to know that so many people are interested in figuring out how they can treat their fellow humans just a little bit better.

This makes it a very bittersweet message I must deliver today: I am leaving the show as its regular host. This is not a decision I take lightly, but a very demanding work and travel schedule has made it difficult to put out a weekly show, not to mention have enough time for family and friends. I will still try to come on for a guest episode every now and then, and we have plenty of episodes in the archives if you ever feel like listening to a familiar voice.

But most importantly I want to thank you for listening, for calling, for writing, but most of all for making the effort to treat one another with courtesy, kindness and respect. I wish you all the very best, and hope that the kindness you bestow upon others is returned a thousand fold. This is Adam Lowe, the Modern Manners Guy, signing off and wishing you a fond farewell.

We have a new host in place and the next episode is already up. We'll miss Adam terribly, but we hope you love our new host, Trent Armstrong.

I can certainly understand but hope someone else steps forward to carry on. There are too few voices for civility in the world already to lose another one.
