One thing you don’t know about me is…

I start listening to holiday music in late September!  (Behind closed doors, of course, as my family would strangle me!)

The best piece of advice I’ve ever gotten was…

My mother always said “don’t borrow worry from the future.” This advice has helped me navigate through all the difficult times in my life. In reality, all we really do have is the present and we should appreciate what we have right now rather than what we're hoping to have some day.

In my spare time I like to…

Decorate, which is therapeutic and also challenging with 8 kids underfoot. I also openly admit to being a Pinterest junkie.

The strangest pet/animal I’ve ever owned was a…

My family lived in Puerto Rico when I was a little girl.  My sister and I each had pet iguanas and we walked them through the neighborhood on leashes we made out of palm tree leaves!

A weird phobia I have is…

Moths!  I don’t care what size they are—they send me running.

The book I’m reading right now is…

The Blue Bistro by Elin Hilderbrand

I volunteer at…

The PTO at my children’s middle school. In addition, I've been the advisor of the school’s newspaper for the past 6 years. Also, I have taught religious education for 2nd graders at our local church for the past 12 years.  And I write for our church newsletter every quarter.

My favorite song for getting a big job done around the house is…

ATC's "All Around the World (la la la la la)." It is one of those catchy tunes that gets stuck in your head and energizes you!

When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is…

Hit the snooze button at least twice and then lay in bed and set intentions for my day. I put my day out to the universe and intend for my schedule to go as well as it can.

My favorite holiday is…

Christmas. Having a big family of 8 kids during the holiday season is beyond magical—especially on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.  I spend days decorating the house.  I love the lights, the sparkle, the magic, the music, and all the surprises!

The weirdest place I’ve ever recorded a podcast is…

In the empty Jacuzzi tub. It was a dreadful daydogs were barking, kids were cranky, nothing was going right—so I locked myself in the bathroom and recorded Mighty Mommy. The acoustics were pretty great, I should probably try it again!

The famous person I’d most like to have lunch with is…

Marianne Williamson

If I could give my Mighty Mommy avatar another accessory, it would be…

Spanx and a bottle of wine!

The one thing I would tell my 20-year-old self is…

Don’t be so critical of yourself and learn to take a compliment!

My advice for aspiring podcasters is…

Be engaging and creative with your topics.  Speak as though you’re having a conversation with a group of friends so listeners will want to keep coming back to spend more time with you each week.
