Recently a study was released that investigated how a personal trainer develops their knowledge, and the results suggested that one of the most valuable characteristics of a personal trainer is not how “smart they are,” but rather how much real world experience they actually have.

So if you’re looking to hire a personal trainer, you need to consider not just the number of letters after their name or the certifications on their wall, but more importantly, how much time they’ve spent in the trenches and how many people they’ve helped.
