Ben Greenfield: Welcome to the Get-Fit Guy's Quick and Dirty Tips to Slim Down and Shape Up. My name is Ben Greenfield, I'm the Get-Fit Guy, and if you've been a loyal Get-Fit Guy listener for quite some time, you may be aware of the fact that this podcast has been going since, brace yourself, 2010. To be precise Thursday, May 6th, 2010 was when I recorded the very first ever Get-Fit Guy episode. Now since that time there has been plenty of extremely popular episodes that you can head over to QuickandDirtyTips.com to download. Some of the more popular episodes, actually I can give them to you in order if you'd like to hear them. They are, How to Tighten Skin When You Lose Fat, How to Get Very Strong Without A Gym, Which Exercise Machine Burns the Most Calories, How to Get A Flat Stomach, How to Recover After A Workout, What is the Fat Burning Zone, How to Lose Fat and Gain Muscle at the Same Time, Ten Tips to Build Muscle Fast, How to Burn Thanksgiving Calories, and The Five Best Full Body Exercises. We've literally had millions of downloads since 2010.

So why am I telling you all this? Well just a couple of things. Before we jump into the top workout trends for 2017, which is actually what this episode is about. The reason that I'm telling you all this is because of three things really. First of all, I have an exciting new project in the works that's frankly taking up a lot of time. It's a project that I'm working on to optimize the body, the mind, and the spirit of exercise enthusiasts, and health enthusiasts, worldwide. If you follow me on any of my channels, such as BenGreenfieldFitness.com, or GreenfieldFitnessSystems.com, you'll be able to stay up to date on what's going on with that. Next I'm working on a couple of new books. I have both a fiction book in the works and also a secret project book also designed for optimization of the body, and the mind, and the spirit. And frankly I'm spending quite a bit of time writing.

And finally I'm wanting to give you a fresh new voice, personality, and new information on the Get-Fit Guy show. And so that is why I am telling you right now that I am passing on the reigns of the Get-Fit Guy podcast. I am passing those reigns on to the one person on the face of the planet who above all I consider to be the best equipped to continue to provide you with everything that you need to enhance your energy, and lose weight, and boost performance, and get your body looking better than ever without spending hours in the gym, or spending a ton of money on fitness gear. And his name is Brock Armstrong. He's right here with me now. Brock, hello.

Brock Armstrong: Hey folks, how's it going everybody?

BG: And if you aren't familiar with Brock, you may not know that he is actually my sidekick over on the Ben Greenfield Fitness Show. But he also has extensive experience in the fitness, the movement, and the wellness industry. He's worked with leading personal trainers, coaches, and wellness consultants including Monica Reinagel our own Nutrition Diva here at QuickandDirtyTips.com, Mark Sisson, Katy Bowman, Dave Asprey, Mark Divine. And he has an enormous understanding of functional movement, endurance training, muscle building, and the ever important balance between performance and health. He's helped people all over the world achieve their goals and improve the quality of their life. He was a blogger for the Canadian runner magazine IRun.ca. And in addition to being a guest and a co-host on my own podcast, he's also been on the Primal Endurance show. The Endurance Planet show, and the Whole Athlete. And you can also check out his workplace wellness podcast over at WorkplaceHero.me.

He also runs SkywalkerFitness.ca which is a company that has helped hundreds of people cross the finish line of races like marathons and triathlons since 2011. And Brock, who I guarantee you're going to get to know very well over the next several Get-Fit Guy episodes, is a certified personal trainer. He's a certified running coach, he is what is called an NCCP and CAC triathlon coach. He is a group fitness leader, he's on the advisory board of the Primal Health Coach training. He's a member of my own Superhuman Coach Network. He's an instructor for the Bullet Proof Training Institute. And here is an interesting anecdote about Brock, he is also a former professional ballet dancer.

BA: It's true.

BG: It is true. You can probably point your toes better than just about anybody out there I would imagine.

BA: At least I could 25 years ago.

BG: If you haven't yet picked it up based on his accent, Brock lives in Canada, Vancouver, BC with his partner Eleanor, along with several bicycles. And he is your new Get-Fit Guy host. So please join me in welcoming Brock Armstrong as the new Get-Fit Guy. Welcome Brock.
