How to Get Five Servings of Vegetable a Day

Eating five servings of vegetables each day is not as hard as you might think! Here’s what counts as a serving:
 

  • 1 cup of lettuce or raw spinach (about the size of a baseball)

  • 1 cup of coleslaw

  • 1/2 cup of cooked vegetables  (about the size of an ice cream scoop)

  • 6 baby carrots or radishes

  • 1 large stalk of celery

  • 1 small can tomato or vegetable juice

  • 1/2 green pepper

  • 1/2 cup of spaghetti sauce or salsa
