Nutrition Diva's trick for using overripe bananas. (Hint: don't put them in the garbage!)
If you have some bananas that have gotten too ripe to eat, don't throw them away. Instead, peel them, place them in a resealable bag, and freeze them. Frozen bananas are great additions to smoothies. Not only do they add a nice sweetness (you can probably cut back on other sweeteners), but the pectin they contain will make your smoothie extra thick and creamy, like a milkshake.
