Hello and greetings from week 14 of the Mighty Mommy Belly Burn Project!
My last update was nearly 8 weeks ago, but with 7 of my 8 kids home from school for summer vacation, it has been tough to carve out the time for more frequent updates (I know you understand!).
The good news is that I’m still on track, still losing weight, still burning the fat from my belly and a few other places! If you're unfamiliar with the Mighty Mommy Belly Burn Project, take a minute to catch up by reading this article where I outline my motivation to lose more than 30 pounds of fat from my midsection.
Last time I shared my results was during week 6 of the Belly Burn Project and at that point I had lost 13 pounds and 2 pant sizes. That was June 10th, just two weeks before my darling children got out of school for the summer. I won’t lie, I was a little nervous about how I would maintain my new exercise regimen and even my new eating lifestyle with my gang home and underfoot 24/7 for the 10 weeks of summer vacation. But thanks to Ben Greenfield (aka Get-Fit Guy) and his easy-breezy, practical approach to losing weight with no-brainer exercise regimens and eating plan, I'm thrilled to report that as of July 30th, I’ve lost a total of 20 pounds and 3 pant sizes!
Yes, I still have a goal of losing another 17 – 20 pounds, but at this point in the game, I am confident that I will reach my goal by mid-to-late October.
You know what I love most about the Belly Burn Project? It’s practical, it’s fuss-free, it makes me feel healthy and strong, and best of all—I can manage it pretty darn well in my crazy lifestyle as a busy, working mom!
In my last update during week 6, I shared the key strategies that had been working so effectively for me. These included burning more fat by getting proper sleep, finally realizing I couldn’t make excuses for not taking care of myself just because I’m a busy mom, my new, energy-packed nutrition staple, green smoothies, and exercise routines that didn’t include the gym or fancy equipment.
Now that I’ve made a total commitment to myself to get as healthy and fit as possible, neither summer vacation nor having less time to myself could get me off track. Instead, it motivated me even more to keep on going, and I truly believe that a large part of my success comes from following Get-Fit Guy’s practical and easy-to-follow tips.
Though I'm faithful to my new healthy lifestyle, I currently find myself plateauing with both my weight and losing inches. That shouldn't be a problem for too long, however, because of Get-Fit Guy's smart strategies. Two of my favorite ways to bust through a weight-loss plateau are interval training and by following three great exercises that Ben recommends which double the calorie burn. He has endless tips and strategies that are foolproof and completely healthy and safe when followed correctly. He even shares several videos so you will always feel confident that you are doing the exercises properly. It’s like having your own personal trainer at your fingertips. He’s also funny and engaging, which makes working out (dare I admit it?) FUN!
