Piles. I just love piles. Especially piles of articles that I'll read someday. I also have piles of books that I'll read someday. And on my computer, I have folders of newsletters that I'll read someday. And movies in my Netflix queue that I'll watch someday. I don't seem to have noticed that these lists get longer over time, not shorter. That means "someday" is never arriving.
If your life is filled with ever-growing "someday" lists, empty them. That's right, get rid of them. If you haven't read that all-important book in the three years since you bought it, you're not going to get to it ever. Either schedule a time to read it and get started, or just smile and give it to someone else.
Once you've freed up the mental and physical space occupied by all the "someday" piles, you'll find yourself feeling free and able to flow through life with a wonderful lightness of being. Plus, you'll be able to see your carpet. What could be better than that?
