Even though I’m an expert in communication (or maybe because I am), I was nervous about delivering “good” interviews. So I spent time brushing up on my skills and then launched into weekly interviews for several months. To Agree or Not to Agree?
When you receive an interview request, the first thing you need to decide is if you should do the interview. If you are being interviewed to provide your opinion on a currently hot topic, you’ll want to consider who the reporter is, the news outlet, and the audience. Most importantly you’ll want to know the focus of the interview. Don’t agree to an interview until you understand the angle and why you, in particular, were contacted.
