personifying trees

TREES stand guarding through the night,
Soldiers, never taking flight.
FLOWERS pop up and say hello,
Bending, bowing, sometimes through snow.
STREAMS chortle and giggle their way
Through the rocks to fields of hay.

When inanimate objects skip or sing,
They’re doing something interesting.
PERSONIFICATION is the word to remember
From now until next September!
