Snack Attack: Foods That Wreak Havoc on Your Skin [INFOGRAPHIC]

Some skin problems may be aggravated by the food we eat! Check out an awesome infographic on what could be causing (or aggravating) your acne problems.

1) Sugary Foods: The blood sugar spike from sugary snacks boost insulin production — higher insulin levels may increase acne, though it’s still debated.

2) Dehydrating Ingredients:  Dehydrating ingredients like alcohol, caffeine, and salt can dry out your skin.

3) Dairy products: Conventional dairy products (milk, cheese, ice cream, yogurt) contain hormones that may aggravate acne and inflammation.

4) Fatty Foods: Fatty foods can throw off our balance of omega-3 and omega-6 (we get too much omega-6 from processed fats).

For healthy, glowing skin, you can certainly use a moisturizing cream, but healthy foods can help out, too! Increase your intake of vitamins E and C, antioxidants, and beta carotene. Make your own skin treatments with honey and egg whites! And remember — if your whole body is healthy, your skin will be, too.
