A listener named Dave says: “My problem is that my man boobs won't go away. Now it's becoming noticeable - I'm getting thinner, but my chest is not. What can be done about this?

In medical jargon, “man boobs” are referred to as gynecomastia – or abnormally large mammary glands. The condition is not physically harmful, but can be embarrassing and an indicator of more serious underlying conditions. So here are your quick and dirty man boob tips.

  1. See a doctor. Sex hormone imbalances and a reaction to pharmaceutical drugs are common causes of this condition.

  2. Work all your chest muscles. Don’t just bench-press or do push-ups. Instead, include exercises on a decline or incline bench, or with your feet or hands elevated to work all angles of your chest.

  3. Wear compression garments. Compression sports-wear, such as supportive t-shirts, can help with both appearance and comfort.

  4. Watch your diet. Some folks simply store more fat in certain areas – and any caloric excess is going to go straight to your trouble spot! Especially pay attention to alcohol, sugars, and processed fats such as baked goods and vegetable oils.

You don’t have to be doomed to man boobs for life, so take action with the tips above!
