Quick Tip: An Inexpensive Alternative to Protein Powder
To add a little extra protein (and calcium) to your meals, add some dried milk powder to smoothies, baked goods, or hot cereal. Although dried milk isn’t as high in protein as most protein powders, it’s a lot less expensive. You can even blend dried milk into liquid milk to make it a bit creamier tasting. Just keep in mind that, unlike whey protein powder, dried milk powder is not lactose free. If you’re lactose intolerant or you avoid dairy, this tip is not for you!
