Quick Tip: How to Keep Lettuce Fresh in the Fridge
People often tell me that they buy salad ingredients with best of intentions, but the lettuce usually gets limp or (worse!) slimy before they get to it. To keep your lettuce fresh and crisp, rinse it with cool water and shake most of the water off. Then, wrap it in a clean dish towel or absorbent paper towels. Place the towel-wrapped lettuce in a plastic bag or in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator. If you still haven’t gotten to it after several days, rinse and wrap it again. This tip works great with herbs like parsley, too!
