5 New Uses for Used Tea Bags
Don’t throw away a tea bag after you use it! Check out these five ways you can use them around the house instead.
Tea Bags for Your Fridge
We hate to throw anything away, so we love this way to repurpose used tea bags. Place them in a bowl and put them at the back of your refrigerator. They’ll remove odors just as well as baking soda!
Tea Bags for Potted Plants
If you’re repotting a houseplant, use a tea bag to cover the hole on the bottom of the pot. Place even more tea bags along the bottom of the pot to nurture them and keep them moist even when you’ve forgotten to water them.
Tea Bags for Puffy Eyes
The same chamomile tea that calms an upset stomach can also ease puffy, irritated eyes. Soak tea bags in cold water for a few minutes until they are plump. Squeeze out a bit of excess water and then place the bags on closed eyes for several minutes. Alternatively, you can use chilled chamomile tea as a refreshing facial spritzer.
Tea Bags for Aches and Pains
The tannins in tea offer natural astringency, helping to tone down swelling, lessen pain, and encourage blood clotting. Use warm tea bags on canker sores, toothaches, styes, and even hemorrhoids.
Tea Bags for Breastfeeding Moms
If you’re a breastfeeding mom, tea bags can be godsend for soreness and cracking. Just let used tea bags cool (you might even want to put them in the fridge for a little while) and stick in your bra for about 10 minutes for soothing relief.
